In Northeastern Poland a unique Biebrza River meanders through picturesque landscape creating numerous oxbow lakes. The valley stretching around is a complex of peatlands and home for wildlife with no equal in Europe. Three types of wetlands: fens, transitional mires and bogs – the famous Biebrza Marshes – surrounding the river differ from each other both in terms of the flora, as well as the fauna. In 1993, the Biebrza National Park was created here, and two years later the area received international legal protection under the Ramsar Convention as a wetland of particular importance for sustaining natural habitats of water and marsh birds. We invite you to join Biebrza River National Park Photographic Tours & Workshops! of unique wildlife and chance to learn how to photograph it best possible way. We start our workshops in early spring. At that time of the year, the river floods the area and transforms the valley into the kingdom of water plants and marsh birds. Flooded meadows and pastures are covered with yellow blooming kingcups, and the air is filled with mating sounds of countless birds. Each year, hundreds of thousands of them appear in the vicinity of the Biebrza river. Majestic flood plains of Biebrza are frequented by over 280 species of birds, 180 of which are breeding species. Biebrza swamps are a kingdom of elks, beavers, otters and weasels, wild boars and foxes, wolves and many other animals. You don't need a photographic experience or sophisticated photo equipment to take the lessons. Basic model of dSLR, mirrorless or advanced compact camera is quite enough to start taking your photographic knowledge to the next level. If you prefer to enjoy nature without photographing, we will be more that glad to provide observation equipment (binoculars) for better bird and nature watching experience.
